The Weiherer Weizenbock, aged in wooden barrels with Dornfelder grapes, matured for eight months in an oak barrel previously used for Dornfelder wine from the Wagner winery in Staffelbach, grown on the southern slopes of Weiher (directly behind the brewery). The result is a symbiosis of two traditional Franconian beverages, combining the malty sweetness of the beer with the vanilla and earthy aromas of the wood and the crisp acidity of the wine. The first sip is velvety smooth, accompanied by dried fruit and honey. This specialty beer finishes slowly, with a warming, fruity aftertaste reminiscent of gooseberries.
